Privacy

The short version: your books never leave your device unless you send them somewhere. The Baratelli Institute does not collect, see or store the financial information you keep in Baratelli Bankable.
What the program stores, and where
Everything you enter (companies, accounts, transactions, customers and vendors, taxpayer ID numbers, payroll, investments, personal financial statements, documents and receipts) is stored in your web browser's storage on your own device, or in books files you choose to save. It is not sent to us. If you set a passcode, the books are encrypted on your device with AES-256 before they are stored. Removing the program's site data in your browser deletes the books on that device.
What we do not do
The program has no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics or tracking scripts, and sets no cookies. We do not sell or share personal information, because the program does not send it to us.
Services the program contacts
To work, the program loads a few files from other companies. When it does, your browser connects to them and they receive the technical information every web request carries (such as your IP address and browser type), but not your books:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com): the program's typefaces.
- cdnjs (cdnjs.cloudflare.com): the Excel reader, loaded only when you import an Excel file.
- jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net): receipt text recognition, loaded only when you scan a receipt. The picture is read on your device and is not uploaded.
When you email an invoice or statement, the program opens your own email program; what you send is between you and your email provider. Payment links you add take your customers to the payment service you chose.
If you run the program inside Claude
The same program is also distributed in an edition that runs inside Claude, the assistant made by Anthropic, PBC. In that edition — and only in that edition — the books are stored in your own Claude account rather than in your browser, Anthropic operates that storage under its own privacy terms, and an optional in-program help feature can send your question, together with figures drawn from your books, to Claude to answer. On this website the program does none of that. It makes no connection to Claude, stores nothing in any account, and never sends your figures anywhere. Wording you may find in the program's source code referring to a Claude account belongs to that other edition and does not run here.
Our website
Like most websites, baratelliinstitute.com is hosted by a provider whose servers keep standard access logs (IP address, pages requested, date and time) for security and operations. The Site is hosted by Netlify, which operates those servers and sets its own retention period for the logs. The Institute does not set that period, does not receive those logs, does not use them for marketing, and does not combine them with anything you enter into the program. Netlify's published privacy statement does not state a retention period and directs retention questions to Netlify at privacy@netlify.com. No number is stated here because the Institute cannot verify one. If you install the program as an app, your browser keeps a copy of the program's files so it opens offline; that copy does not contain your books.
Children
The program is intended for businesses and adults and is not directed to children under 13.
